The price would go up of course and your shares get converted to the new company if thats how the deal is made. If the company was purchased outright, depending on the deal, a share price would be determined and we would be cashed out like a casino. Your retail share count x the SP and here's your deposit into your brokerage thanks for playing. All normal taxes apply. (not sure how warrants and options are executed). I had that happen with a small medical company stock that was fully purchased. It was a nice haul vs cost basis and it came out of nowhere. It was back in the scottrade days so I don't remember the name now. I bought at sub dollar and it sold at 2.50ish.
