According to them they didn’t produce any BAM1 silk during production trials. All they claimed to have trialed were the parent strains. So once again they put out a PR that makes no sense.
Your point is well taken. Y > 10 X doesn’t tell us anything about the value of Y unless we know the value of X. During my long engagement with KBLB, I believe this uninformative language is employed because providing the value of X (and therefore a reasonable estimate of Y) would be disappointing for investors. Thompson loves this fog of uncertainty.
