Each of us are just observers, a Steve Jobs was a shaper of life. His view of technology actually changed life for every American. Kind of like what Ford did with his car.
Politics is just the give and take, back and forth struggle of issues that will make no difference in a few decades.
You think our parents cared during the depression about some of the shit we argue about each day. They were too busy just trying to survive. My father might have only been 18 years old when his father died in 1929, but at least his father's place of employment offered him a job. He was smart, he took it and proceeded to put his life on hold for the next 10 years as he took care of his mother and sister who had health problems.
I stated this earlier, the 1960s was filled with cities burning, assassinations, and my generation questioning this countries war in Vietnam. I mentioned this to my grandchildren once or twice when they saw a picture of two in my office. They could care less, life evolved to what they cared about. America does that, it fights hard battle each generation, then moves forward. Guess what, this is quite a country.
Our cars are masterful, our technology makes things at a press of a button, and only our own individual creativity needs to be harnessed into almost anything we want it to be.
