Frank, where were you & at what time did you say you noticed no problems with your Etrade Platform this morning. I see you are in Virginia, so that's Eastern Time, and you posted that you were having no problems, and your Message was posted at about 10:12 AM, YOUR Time, right?
When is the first time you looked at your PC to see Etrade was working for you this morning?
I tried to use Etrade Platform shortly after Opening Bell (which is 8:30 AM), at about 8:40 My time Houston, which is Central Time, 1 HR behind Eastern.
So got on the phone shortly after failing to access Etrade, with Etrade Trader, who told me their Website platform went down shortly after Opening Bell.
Were you able to get on Etrade between 8:30 to 8:40 MY Time (Central), i.e., between 9:30 to 9:40 YOUR time (Eastern)?
OR did you try & get on Etrade at about 10 AM Eastern Time, which is when my Etrade Platform came back on, which was about my 11 AM Central Time.
Just trying to find out when or why YOUR Etrade worked & mine didn't.
Etrade Rep told me it wasn't just them having tech problems, and that other Brokerages' platforms were down too. But they didn't say whose.
I do wonder about that because my Think or Swim Platform of Schwab's was working just fine thruout all this morning.
Am tempted to move from Account on Etrade over to Schwab, but I'd asked Etrade about that a couple months ago & there's a lot of red-tape involved, which is very laborious, PLUS it takes TIME for the money to be transferred over. DO U KNOW ANYthing about this at all & how it works?
Anyway, thank you for letting me know when exactly you were able to get on Etrade, because what happened this morning was TERRIBLE!!! I was NOT able to do my transactions, which I was desperately trying to with the help of their so-called "Emergency Trading Team", which was disastrous! It didn't work at all!
I can't have this happen ever again! NO ONE CAN AFFORD SUCH A LOSS!!!
