Can gold be mined without cyanide?
The solution replaces cyanide with a safe, alternative reagent known as thiosulphate. Thiosulphate dissolves the fine gold out of ores (the gold that has not recovered by gravity) at similar rates to conventional techniques. It's safe and lowers environmental impacts.

Have you done any research at all on this? The chemicals are used to separate gold from the crushed ore. After the gold is extracted you're left with the tailings which are highly contaminated whether they are dry or wet. Ever heard of cyanide?
