"With these production trials successfully concluded, we are now aggressively implementing the next phase of our business plan, which will expand our operations and target multiple production locations in multiple countries.”

Kim is initiating plan to fly right now. They've crawled, walked, & run for over a decade. They've proved the "drop in replacement" part of the claim to the locals.

Yes, big money in DS. That's what brought us all here.

"Not a single instance of disease or infection was detected at any point during the entire cycle. This result surprised local silkworm experts observing the trials."
Immunity worms were tested long ago. As we've heard today, Kraig possesses the technology to do it and it doesn't take long to ramp up. The locals have seen what KBLB can do with DS and that doesn't kill the mundane biz. They want both.

DFS, the many previous years was KBLB learning to first crawl, then walk, and now learning how to run phase. From what I understand from other posters is that this spider silk endeavor has never been accomplished by any company in the past. Seems like there will be a time in the future where the rocket engine will be ignited.

I suspect this project is on the back burner if it is still being considered at all.

Not sure how things will play out, but when the good Doctor Kumar said, "When paired with its strength, we have created a silk that can't be matched." .... my first reaction was whoa, wait a minute. Then I started thinking on what he may have meant. He's right. Before the winning lines were homozygous for DS, they were mundane commercial silkworms(from around the world). Those same lines might just be able to make an unmatchable mundane silk hybrid too. This is a big part of having the silkworms that are so richly sought after, albeit only DS lines for all we know. All countries that submitted lines will likely be invited into the DS/MS/ and maybe mundane silk fold(s).

The markup is higher.

So what. Make a disease free mundane silk line and make money from license fees or royalties. There are purists out there that will want to stay traditional. They are all looking for ways to get more disease free bang for the same buck. Improve production numbers etc.

KBLB does not appear to have the breeding pool necessary to support even a single metric ton of silk per breeding cycle.

If KBLB is being quiet on how far they took the Dec hybrid systems, and they actually have been in production there, then the breeding pool is larger than you are speculating. The plan from what I heard, was to transition to Bam-1 as they came online....with the parental strains and the hybrids.....while maintaining some level of production with the Dec strains and hybrid.

Reaching that level and sustaining it represents a new challenge for KBLB

You keep talking like KBLB is in this alone.

KBLB needs to learn how to walk. If it succeeds, it will learn how to run.

They succeeded walking with the Dec lines, and they just got done telling you they are ready to run with Bam-1.

No doubt Kim has a busy schedule when he gets back, if he isn't here already.

Thompson has tripped over his own ambitions too many times already.

What a vision-less way to look at it. He is the first ever to get this far into the holy grail of SS production, and you're still looking to the rear. You'll never amount to 1/4 of what he has done, with this capacity you've displayed over the years. For those that will....wakey wakey.

Each moth produces around 500 eggs so it won’t take long. No worries.
