Common shareholders weren't allowed to vote liquidated assets only the secured and unsecured creditors voted.

KKR doesn't owe Common shareholders anything - that money would go to the secured creditors because they were impaired. The Equity holders are last in line to be paid - first the Preferred Shareholders and the very last is the Common Shareholders.
