I would just broaden abuse with rejection. I believe many were unsuccessful in achieving normal pairing.

I had a wholesale business that sold Spiritually symbolic jewelry.

I had several shop owners who were "gay". But when I shared with them in Spirt it came out that they were females who had been horribly abused by males.

In such a situation - homosexuality was a reasonable defense against heterosexual abusers.

There may be a small number of biologically determined "homosexuals", those whose sexual hormones are not wired in the "normal" fashion, but I believe that most "homosexuals" are just refugees from heterosexual abuse.
