The date is 100% factually meaningful and affects your so-called shares. As you may be unaware, the CCAA proceedings are & were the only proceedings - Chapter 15 Foreign Arrangement, it was the factual end. The shares were unofficially cancelled by delisting, ticker deletion & indefinite cusip suspension.
Are you saying this is some “suspension” where people are waiting around at the company to resume business some day 5 years later, except this time with no assets at all?

I’m not sure why you struggle with this, but this was an awkward situation where the company was liquidated in Canada since the main asset was there. Then there was no one left to formally cancel shares. Enron was bankrupted in the same country it was headquartered.
This was explained to you and you are owed nothing else. There is no requirement that this end the way you want it to for closure. It is completely over.
