This has only been ongoing for the last decade as well. Not only that, but is money actually going to go toward Freddie/Fannie? Seems like government is really good at keeping their interest in anything that generates $$$. I’m just going to pretend I never heard of this because nothing will likely come of it even if they settle. Also, there is no chance the settlement pot is $400B. Banks together do not have that kind of money to pay a settlement and doesn’t seem likely that damages for said banks in receivership resulted in a$400B loss either.
