Re: SELECT the Audio Message!
Ah mah gawd!
I looked all over the place for what you were talking about and when I couldn't find anything, I decided to try the "edit my page."
That has changed a great deal since the first days of beta. Now you can arrange your page completely. Mine looked hugely lopsided with news and stocks on the right and weather, lottery and, yes (she admitted with a blush that said I hope you don't think I'm silly) horoscope on the left.
Plus, they've added a bunch of other items you can add to your page. Damn, I wish dictionary was among them. I do try and aspire to perfection in my spelling...you know the whole goddess thing...gotta try and look good. <G>
So, dpb, you're going to be meeting some fellow investors. I'd be curious to hear what it's like to meet people, in person, that you've only spoken to, or more accurately, written to. What pre-conceived notions are dashed, and what surprises come to pass? I'm sure we've all wondered...who's behind that post...those words? What's their physical makeup and would I think differently of them with that knowledge?
I think that's what makes the internet so intriguing in some ways. It's a level playing field, so to speak. In fact, one might argue that proficiency in writing and expessing one's thoughts and the opening of one's heart and mind are better served on the net than the attributes of good looks, prestige, or wealth.
We become more like persons of spirit rather than form.
Now, how many of you would have thought, say 10 years ago, when there were so many prognostications of the dummying down of America because of TV, that a new all-consuming medium would emerge based on the written word.
Sigh, I'm getting maudlin, again. It must be the R&DC's.
Oh, and incidentally, lest any of you get the wrong idea about the preceeding emotional waxing...I'm quite fine in form, too.<VBG>
