I've essentially taken this approach here. You're more at peace just sitting on your 1s and forgetting about it. If news appears, ok great. Worrying about it day after day though just doesn't make any sense. This is where the internet probably did a ton of damage. Back in the 80's and early 90's I remember my dad just picking up the business section of the paper and seeing how his stocks did (of course he never messed with these kinds of stocks). He didn't really stress about it - he'd just be eating breakfast, take a look and start thinking when he might want to sell, buy more, etc.
Now, people are literally watching second by second. It's like how we can't stop looking at our phones. People post on boards obsessively too. I think it's probably damaging the quality of our lives, depending on the amount of posts you've averaged over the past, say, 8-10 years. Some people probably have like 50,000 posts, or around that, on here over 10 years. That's a bad thing. I myself have over 7,700 posts over just around 8 years. That's bad enough! It's picked up in recent years, but increasing the free posts from 15 to 30 ain't helping either.
