Depends what you mean by ‘hang’.
In a proper hanging, on a properly built gallows, the victim is dropped a distance of at least 6 feet. The rope arrests their fall very suddenly, and the force of that breaks their neck.
It couldn’t have done that. The proportions are all wrong.
