I would access the email together with the person who is helping you with the Google password. Then you need to save the information which contains a password and some other info about your account. I made a screenshot and saved it on my harddisk.
If you are too late it is a simple matter of writing to support and ask them to send it again. I would think. You won't be the first person who doesn't open his email for 8 days.
