“So what becomes of GSS?…”

I thought you knew what the big picture was. It’s pretty obvious.

"So what becomes of GSS?…"

Good question. Maybe they take 2nd fiddle, or maybe they got fired also.
Kim seems to not be in the mood to take no for an answer. If someone isn't up to Kim's standard, it appears they are replaced.

Possibly, they are going to be in addition to the new facility. As long as we have production and revenue, I'm good.

It looks like they are the first contractor of many to come…. Prodigy has been building up worms. And 300-500 eggs per silkworm that’s a lot to handle for just our facility.

"We have been working with various governmental ministries, agencies, and departments for an extended period of time in order to demonstrate our silk production technology and to tailor that technology to the local environment," said Company founder and CEO, Kim K. Thompson. “

“The Company anticipates this facility will also serve as the distribution and collection hub for the resulting recombinant spider silk fibers, yarns, and fabrics. “

If this place is a production facility AND will handle distribution and collection, then they anticipate being supplied by more than just their own production. It’s got to be huge.

In the short run, I don’t expect to see any difference in GSS. The spring field trials should be conducted there. If successful, I expect production to be ramped up there over the rest of 2024.

Of course, Thompson could announce agreement for production in Lam Dong within the next couple of months. At that point, the question of GSS versus Lam Dong production might become clear or we could continue to wonder. But I don’t think it will affect KBLB’s production of silk through the end of the year. Prodigy will first have to scale up the parent lines for the hybrids and then begin producing eggs for GSS. Prodigy will then simultaneously have to continue to increase the breeding pool of the parent lines and increase the number of eggs for GSS. I’m not saying it can’t be done. I’m just saying it will take time.

The question I found myself pondering is ‘What happens to Prodigy? Do they relocate it, or do they use Prodigy to produce eggs, GSS to make silk, and Lam Dong to handle silk processing? The PR suggests the latter. I think that is also consistent with KBLB’s reorganization of Prodigy’s staff.

As you have pointed out, Thompson’s actions continue to reflect his confidence that he has the production problem solved. This is true even as he has learned a great deal about the issues involved in large-scale silkworm production. These PRs are bringing more and more interest to KBLB. That will multiply the effect of news about successful production: Instead of starting at the 2.5 cent to 3.5 cent range, the news may occur when the price is in the 6 to 8 cent range. More investors will be aware of KBLB and trying to buy in to the company.

Could be very good times for long-term investors. If you trust Thompson’s confidence, as based on his obvious moving pieces onto the chessboard, this is a good period to add to your holdings. We all are aware that Thompson has been over-confident in the past. Still a possibility, but I agree that his actions express considerable confidence even in the face of prior failures but benefiting from the wisdom of recognized experts.

I’m not going to be adding to my holdings, mostly because I have enough shares to make life better than it is now. Hoping to change my handle to DollarsPerShare, but not expecting that in 2024.
