I've been reading through the Book of Jeremiah for the past month, and I agree with you on the resemblance of the peoples of Israel turning their back on the LORD God who saved them time-after-time, and with the today's people of the USA. In spite of all the wickedness that the people did, Jehovah - their God, continued to give them opportunities to turn-back to Him, and He would relent on the destruction that was about to happen to them. I believe - like then - God is giving the USA similar opportunities to repent, and turn away from our iniquities - or, in His wrath our nation will be destroyed. As "Christians", it is our duty - as it was Jeremiah's - to sound the alarms to all of those within our "circle of influence" that the time to repent has never been greater than it is today.
