Hydrogen has a higher purpose: energy independence.
For countries that depend on fossil fuel import, hydrogen will be the Holy Grail.
Energy Independence = Freedom

Rich countries that heavily rely on fossil fuels like Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and China are already investing big in hydrogen, no matter the cost.

The future = nuclear fusion + hydrogen (I think)
