Someone as in an individual trader/investor putting in a six-figure market order so they could buy it at ridiculously high prices over the ask?? Maybe so, but seems awful desperate. I guess if there was no need for any short covering that could happen. But realistically those shares bought in that 5 minute time frame could have been purchased at a much lower price the rest of the trading day.

IMO, someone was aware the report was coming out, called their broker and simply said, "get me $100K worth of Hemi", not knowing what a limit order is.

(hell, the first time I bought stock, that's what I did!)


Nothing seems to make more sense than that.

inverstorstallone, yes, that does make sense. Kinda strange to run the price up like that on yourself but is about the only way I can see things happening that fast.
