#271575 RE: jealmc79 #271570

I found this post from someone far more interesting and reasoned than “I’m sure” when it comes to assuming China is already providing something on par with what KBLB could offer:

“I believe there is a deeper reason for 'just now' joining these associations. If you research the silk industry in Vietnam, you will find that one of their biggest problems is having to buy their silkworm eggs 'every year' from either China or India. This is a big expense (90% of the industry), and the logistics create additional problems. A domestic source of silk worms could be extremely beneficial to the industry there. Since KBLB now has a proven 'more robust' domestic silkworm in its inventory (for developing the various lines of spider silk), and the fact that that genetic line is complete, and the fact that they are bringing in major players from India to oversee their growth and development in Vietnam... could it be that they have negotiated a deal with the Government to become the primary supplier of silkworms for the Vietnamese silk industry? My sources tell me that is very possible and could quickly become a revenue generator for KBLB. Is that possibly part of the "aggressively to expand its production capacities and footprint in the first quarter of 2024" in the current announcement. Personally, I think yes!”

But what do I, this poster and others know. We should probably just turn to self proclaimed experts using vague phrases like “I’m sure”.
