YEP!!! And those clever Pre-Romans (per se) even invented IRON-smelting --- or so they say. WHO KNOWS, for sure??!!! (And one last GUESS by me --- no question that China created the very first TELESCOPE!! How could they NOT have??!! Marco Polo returned to Europe from there sporting Eyeglasses!! NOBODY can convince me that at least ONE of those many Chinese EYEGLASS makers did not simple hold-up TWO of such LENSES together & simply peak at the MOON & then see those CRATERS thereupon!!! Flucking IMPOSSIBLE that they were not the first Humans to see CRATERS on the Moon!!! Archeologists simply have not yet dug-up a Chinese TELESCOPE, pre-dating that one in Europe by hundreds of years. Just a guess; but I know I'm RIGHT.)
