Judges dont break the law, per se. The judges job is to "interpret" the law, and the interpretation is final, subject to appellate review. If one or more parties dispute the judges decision, then it can be appealed. If this comes to Scotus, the odds of Scotus "even hearing the appeal" are very very low. We dont get to decide if the judges decision is lawful or not. Scotus ultimately does.
