GEGI may be onto something
Are they going to run travel stops or are they going to franchise travel stops?

TravelCenters of America
BP Products North America Inc., a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of BP p.l.c., completed its $1.3 billion acquisition of TravelCenters of America on Monday, May 15.May 19, 2023

There is GEGI
Then there is Loves, BP and Berkshire

Who is right? Are travel stops worth it????

$GEGI Berkshire Hathaway Buys Remaining Stake in Truck-Stop Chain From Haslam Family
Berkshire Hathaway purchased the remaining 20% of Pilot Travel Centers that it didn’t already own from the family of Cleveland Browns co-owner Jimmy Haslam.

The deal comes after Berkshire and the Haslam family’s Pilot Corp. earlier this month settled a lawsuit over how much Berkshire could have been required to pay for the minority stake. Neither the settlement terms nor the deal terms were disclosed. The companies announced the deal after the market closed.

Berkshire acquired its 80% stake in Pilot Travel Centers, or PTC, over a six-year period for $11 billion. Starting this month, Pilot Corp. was to have an annual 60-day window in which it could require Berkshire to purchase its remaining 20% stake. The price, in the event Pilot Corp. exercised its option, had been set at a contractually agreed formula of 10 times the prior year’s earnings before interest and taxes, with some adjustments.
