I agree. I think they let the bad guys get the puck for a while.

Their lack of innocence, however is probably related to being a bit naive. I think they were probably just trying to run a hockey league. Thankfully, it appears they woke up from their slumber just in time, but not before some damage was done--particularly to the stock price.
