So far it comes off as a bumbling science project with an overpaid,over his head CEO.

If Kim and Jon were not certain of the success of production, why would they have hired Notre Dame's esteemed scientists and those from India?

The whole reason or story is an unknown. Could be all good, could be bad, or somewhere in the middle.

The hirings prove nothing other than what they already had couldn't get the job done.
