Well then how do you compare Salon.com to one of the favorite go to sites of the alt-right Trump cultists, The Gateway Pundit?

Please note no editing, altering, modifying.

1) Salon. com

Founded in 1995, Salon is a progressive/liberal news and opinion website created by David Talbot. Salon publishes articles on U.S. politics, culture, and current events and has a left-leaning editorial stance. The current editor is Andrew O’Hehir.

In review, Salon focuses on U.S. politics and current affairs. Story selection almost always favors the left, and there is the frequent use of loaded emotional language such as this: What campus free speech? Arizona case shows how far the right will go to stifle dissent. Like most on Salon, this story is properly sourced to credible media such as the New York Times and the Arizona Republic and occasionally uses sources that have failed fact checks such as The Guardian and Wikileaks. Salon also publishes health and science news that is scientifically based.
Editorially, Salon utilizes strong wording that is anti-right in a tone such as this: Donald Trump is running for president as a flat-out racist. Further, they do not clearly label opinion pieces which can be misleading.

These media sources are moderate to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports, and omit information that may damage liberal causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.

Overall, we rate Salon Left Biased based on story selection that strongly favors the left and endorsements of political positions affiliated with the Democratic Party. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to occasionally utilizing sources poor sources and failed fact checks.

2) GateWay Pundit

The Gateway Pundit publishes extremely right-biased news and commentary that promotes conspiracy theories and the routine publication of falsehoods

The Gateway Pundit has published numerous false or conspiracy stories
such as Hillary Clinton having a seizure, identifying an innocent person in the Las Vegas mass shooting, and identifying the wrong person after the motor vehicle homicide at the White Supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Further, TGP claimed the “FBI received tips well in advance of the Florida school shooting and decided, for whatever reason, not to act.” Finally, based on publishing false information, TGP has faced lawsuits for defamation and damages to innocent individuals. In general, The Gateway Pundit holds extreme right viewpoints and publishes false or misleading information on a near-daily basis.

According to Open Feedback The Gateway Pundit frequently makes false and misleading claims regarding science. This indicates a heavy promotion of pseudoscience especially as it relates to Covid-19 and vaccines.

A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis. See all Questionable sources.

Overall, we rate The Gateway Pundit Questionable based on extreme right-wing bias, promotion of conspiracies, and numerous instances of publishing false (fake) news.
