Mods can still delete posts but it is now a very thin line based on the new TOS rules. That is the main reason why there is so little real DD. Mostly pumping nonsense and when facts are posted the poster gets attacked.
The ignore button should do just that which it only does half.. if Im ignoring someone I should have the right not to share my thoughts with them.. .. yet they can see/read posts from people that have them on ignore.. which is very very flawed.. if you're ignoring someone that Must include having them being able to see/read your thoughts, that would be the full righteous thing to have in place... if you want people to start coming back & paying give them more Personal control of who they wish to share & interact with.. blocking/ignoring means you want ZERO interaction to/from with someone
