77% of greenhouse gas emissions are produced by commercial transportation, energy production, and industry. Interstate commerce is driving this and so the Feds and stakeholders in these commercial sectors are onboard with the investment. These factors as well as the potential security threats created by global climate change are deemed real by serious minded people in the Federal Government, DOD and industry. With necessity being the mother of invention, the hydrogen industry will only grow and be a significant source in what will be a multi-pronged approach to renewable energy industry, between solar, wind, hydrogen, nuclear fusion, etc. As important will be the reality of true energy independence and not being held hostage by fossil fuel producers and markets. The world will be better without the ability of Russia, et al; and or OPEC; to use oil production as a tool in their arsenal of war and influence.

The weight of freight is draining on today's batteries, diminishing the power for long haul shipping and hydrogen will fill that gap.
