My personal physician’s practice will not administer RSV vaccines, according to an email I just received.

Did they give a reason why?

Interesting. Stanford peds insists that family members of newborn (esp preemies) get RSV vaccine when available.

I know of several seniors who have already gotten the RSV vaccine, one of whom is on the younger side and otherwise healthy so I was pretty surprised. My mom who is 83 will probably get it, and most of her friends are being told to get it from their doctors so perhaps there is some geographic differences at play here. The shared decision making recommendation certainly hurts uptake

I got RSV & latest Covid vaccines on October second at the local CVS pharmacy. I had a scheduled appointment, but there was a long line, so I didn’t actually get the shots until 45 minutes after my appointed time. They only had one person on duty administering the shots.

Pain in each shoulder (I asked for different arms) for a few days, as well as fatigue for the first day or so.

I haven’t gotten a flu shot yet. Since the effectiveness wanes after six months, and flu season can continue well into February or even March, I try not to get it too early in the season.

One time, years ago, I was hospitalized for several days with a bad case of the flu. They would have sent me home earlier, but they knew that my spouse was bedridden with a not quite as bad case of the flu and wouldn’t be able to look after me.

Fever dreams can be very vivid.
