Maybe true, however one of the things that needs to be explained is camera lenses see things differently than our eyeballs of course.
As one standing there in person, their eyes have already corrected the distortion. And depending on how they are viewing the framing of the shot also effects how they see the image.

Looking through the little viewfinder usually at the top of the camera may not show the distortion. And those viewfinders can now be optical (glass-refracted thru the lens) or electrical/digitized. Then there's looking at that back 3" lcd image as well.

95+ year old people shrink down like puppets anyways, but Ros has always had a large almost out of proportioned head and head bones don't shrink usually.

Personally, I think it's Ros that accentuates an almost non issue photo.

Agree the photographer should clear that situation up. Should explain his/her error. Guess the photo will stand in the Carter collection in spite of it's oddity. Doesn't hurt as the differences make the picture more memorable. LOL It's one i know now will stick, more than most all others, in my mind. It wouldn't have become so fixed without the controversy. Knowing the Carters as little as i do they could possibly have a chuckle at the photo and say, "Hey, leave it it's a hoot. And anyway think how many will learn from it." Heh. this is a better article on photographic distortion ..
