No. I raced in the midwest. Harness horses. But the very first race horse I ever owned was bred in Ocala FL. Bought him from the $ I saved up working at a golf course when I was 17 in MI. He won a lot of races for me. My second all time favorite horse. I paid a guy to train him and kind of learned how to train from there.
They used to race a lot of harness horses down there in Pompano and a lot of trainers would go there for the winter so that is why that used to be a big area for racing.
