#102037 RE: bcomaha #102035

bcomaha, thanks for the links. I think we will see some government funding based on how it is dishing it out to EV industry. A hell of a lot of money going into battery production. $154B since 2010, $124 billion has come since the start of 2021. I think it's the critical minerals turn!

The battery seems to be the focus for everything that changes the EV market. But, the EV market is also finding itself in need of light-weighting materials such as those products that will be produced by NioCorp.

Niobium appears to be a metal that can improve efficiency in batteries, but also needed for its ability to strengthen and reduce the weight of steel components making up the vehicle frame, giving it more distance per charge.

Scandium in similar ways to niobium, is quite likely to do the job of light-weighting vehicle components, such as battery trays & bumpers, etc. for which I believe NioCorp has mentioned developing a master alloy for.
“The growing recognition of scandium’s remarkable properties as an alloying agent with aluminum presents many exciting opportunities in both commercial and defense markets, and there clearly is strong latent demand for this material.” Andrew Matheson, CEO and a co-founder of Nanoscale.

Rare Earths, primarily neodymium and praseodymium will make the magnetic components of motors, which comprise nearly 150 motor operated components per vehicle.

DOD’s needs for these products will create a huge demand in many applications, vehicles... jets, boats, drones, to weapons systems.

CO2 neutrality is the name of the game for a lot of the investing community. NioCorp is doing its part to help. Got to please the carbon sensitive John Kerry types on this one.

Good luck to Mark at his presentation at the Wainwright conference later to day!
