Thought it was a smart way to provide an update because it was essentially a preliminary PR. It's an update of what's to come.. When an acquisition occurs or FINRA approves the name/ticker change, then it's PR worthy (to me anyway).
I don't see it as a company monetary advantage to save $. It was unnecessary, but informing shareholders via social media is just fine & dandy (I think, anyway).
