R59, I appreciate that valuing a stock isn't easy, and

can change hugely based on market conditions and other things. However once you do your dd, and decide a stock is undervalued, I believe that's in and of itself, saying you have some price target, or at least a price target range. Otherwise it becomes a total guess when to sell, and is purely gambling, the longer you keep it. I believe the goal of a trader should be to make the market as much of a science as possible, knowing you will never hit the top on a stock, and will make plenty judgement errors along the way.

Reseacher, that makes sense to me:

My style is to buy stocks that I feel are undervalued, accumulate on weakness and sell into strength, realizing that fluctuations in the stock price will generate profits for me.

Just as you don't know where a stock is going to bottom out, you don't know where a stock will top out. I use a similar approach in averaging down on weakness and paring on strength. Companies end up way undervalued and way overvalued all the time. It's the way of the market.

It makes a lot more sense to me to go with the flow of the market rather than drawing a line in the sand and being stubborn about where a stock should be priced.
