The alleged idea...goes like this...
A long time ago, the company was supposed to be a voip service provider...
Oh, yeah...and they also sold magic jacks...
None of that worked out and they bought the original voip enhancement patents pending...
Then for several years they told shareholders and the rest of the world that they had the future of voip communications, ie, the patents...and would forthwith integrate the technology into their alleged voip service provider platform, transforming vplm into the king of the hill in voip and would also immediately begin collecting as much as $100 million per year in royalties. Needless to say, this garnered a large number of shareholders and share sales and then...........BOOM.........no rhyme......no reason......no notifications.....no shareholder input.........simply kaboom, forget everything we told you and promised you for the last 2 to 3 yrs.......and now.....with zero fanfare and aplomb.....guess what....yup, now we are the new poster child of patent trolls and we will sell licences and sell the patents and later on we'll let you know we're gonna start suing for infringement because the reality is that we can't sell the patents as no one wants them.
Fast fwd 10 yrs after nonstop OS huge increases and nonstop dilution and nonstop talk of winning in court and nonstop lack a anything solid to happen that produced and money for retail shareholders......BUT........ definitely a personal insider ATM was achieved and now nonstop insider selling is achieved.......as well as nonstop 2 cent avg pps (except for a couple short lived big spike ups congruent with positive IPR outcomes (lol, 28x now) that "true longs" have for many yrs been convinced that really means something and really gives major value to the non sellable patents, which in the real world, it doesn't, plus lots of paid and unpaid pumping from various groups including vplm directly, yrs ago.
Oh, and there's been a handful of infringement cases filed and so far half of them have been dismissed and the rest to come which many hang on to the dream "yay, our day in court is all we ask for", but all that comes to, is more and more monkey wrenches for years and years. Meanwhile, no sales, no licences, no settlements, no partnerships, no prospects, no nothing except more and more promises for "next week"...."next month"..."end of year"..."next year", so on and so forth AND......blame on everyone, ie, judges, the govt, the patent process, Congress, the PTAB, bottomless pockets of the big dog defendants (even tho vplm has never not been able to raise zillions of dollars to pay for everything and to pay the cabal that supports them (with free shares they keep "printing".
Bottom line is no one hopes I'm wrong more than myself since I hold shares for a long time (after locking in to the black forever) but my approx 13 yr study of the company and all the dots I've connected tell me the ship will never come in as far as the many many $billions the company has made it quite clear that the patents are worth AND that every voip service provider on the planet (as well as the users) are infringers.
The patents were created almost 20 yrs ago and have never made a nickel EXCEPT that the STORY has sold kabilions of shares to take care of the insiders and the cabal.
