I was in the Italian Dolomites.

You may be thinking of Dolemite, which was before my time.

I have a hard enough time explaining modern American cultural references to people in Italy (Seinfeld, Kardashians, Fidget Spinners, Hot Pockets, etc.), so going back to the 70's is a stretch.

It makes for fun conversations with my Italian wife. She talks about Eurovision, I talk about American Gladiators. She talks about high income tax, I talk about high capital gains tax.

We both complain about the rising price of gelato.
