I don't like the long wait either but unfortunately, I think this will stretch out for a long time yet.

I'm sure you heard Hong say that he fully expects Samsung to appeal the already decided jury trial, once Gilstrap gives his final bench trial verdict. Hong said that (dependent on the Appeal Court's scheduled docket) it might be a year to a year and a half for that court to even HEAR the appeal. So, IF Samsung's appeal is accepted by the Appeals Court, it might be upwards of TWO YEARS before even THIS case (already decided by the jury for $303M) is finally decided!

I'm afraid we can expect EACH AND EVERY trial to go pretty much like this one has - unless Samsung, Micron and Google suddenly come to the realization that it is going to cost them more money in the long run to keep fighting these IP battles. We've already seen Micron using almost the exact same types of delay tactics that Samsung has used.

The saving grace is that there's pretty much no doubt that MOST of Netlist's IP patents will be found valid. That means that if the record shows companies using that IP without a contract? They will eventually pay. Problem is, it may still be years before we see the courts give Netlist victory.
