VTLE - good catch on the huge short interest. A lot of the small cap O&G producers, including CPE, SBOW, PTEN, NOG among others, have large short interest, typically 10 to 20% of float, but VTLE stands out at 24%. Maybe there are concerns about reserve life ? For crude oil that stands at around 8 years as of 12/31/22 which is on the low side, though I doubt it justifies a forward PE of around 2.

VTLE potential of increasing EPS up to

15% in 3rd quarter with new

acquisition still looks discounted...

That is only a peon estimate on increase

of both Adjusted and Net EPS...

Call open interest huddling at $45 to start

in both September and August didn't

change much in past week...

https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/VTLE/options?expiration=2023-07-21-m

My own view from following VTLE is

that is where short calls start huddling

and at higher dollar amounts...

Buying has done well to target that area

during the price pull backs at option

expiration like 21st coming up...

Barring something spooking short covering

that hasn't happened this year...

But if everyone buying, targets that as

a buy zone to hold from, then the

shorts have tougher competition...

8K filing from Thursday detailing recent

acquisition more or less backed up some

of my guesses for EPS estimate growth...

disclosure, a small $50 call wager for 21st

was added on Friday for trade potential

only in week ahead...

So we watch...LJ
