With the current shortage pharmacies will take what they can get. I’m currently semi-retired, working about one day per week covering a sick call or personal day in any one of about 35 pharmacies in the chain. I have seen small quantities on hand of virtually every generic Adderall on the market. A common situation is you get in a bottle of 100 tablets, fill an rx for 90 tablets and have 10 left over. There have been times when I have filled an rx for 30 tablets with 10 from Sandoz, 10 from Lannett, and 10 from Aurobindo because I did not have 30 from any individual brand. If this happens I speak to the patient first. The usual response from Adderall patients is they are thrilled to get anything. A more common situation is I get an Adderall generic script with no product on hand. I call the patient and tell them I don’t have any and am unsure when I will get more. The patient then has the option to wait for the store to get inventory (could be weeks) or try another pharmacy.
