It was the state’s position for decades, but……
I’m happy SFRX finally figured out how to put the state in its place. That site is grandfathered. The anchor and the big ole ballast pile belongs to SFRX. The state should have gotten involved in the litigation back in the late 80’s if they wanted to protect that area, but did not.
Having said that, SFRX has been poking the bear for a long time, which makes as much sense as a contractor battling a building inspector over the building code.
I’m sure someone(s) from the state commented on the Juno application. Let that sink in.
While the state failed to protect Juno, the bureaucrats at the Corp have standing and likely friends at the state. Or at least folks with the same agenda.
