The problems with putting almost $1billion dollars into novelty keep growing. Spiber initially started with the promise of brewing Spider Silk. If they were successful then they would easily get the $1b back in time, but their Spider Silk attempts were unsuccessful so they switched to “brewed protein”.

That means they are NOTHING to KBLB. Kraig should remove all these failed spider silk attempts off the website.

Now if the AF was to fund any of the Goo companies it would be the US company Bolt Threads, but they realized they couldn’t make Spider Silk a long time ago. This notion of a foreign venture like Spider getting a piece of the pie … A company that has soaked up almost $1b dollars producing protein in the same process as beer would be amazing. What more could Af funding even do for them?
