#260563 RE: WebSlinger #260559

"It looks like the Air Force wants to use bacteria to create synthetic fiber. That would be a perfect fit for some of the "goo" producers."

theres only one that qualifies...that is Bolt...and it would take many hundreds of millions of dollars to build what would be needed...and according to some, the AF would balk at $10 mil for kblb...lol

and all this is still many years into the future...but hey, if they can make it happen, wonderful...i have never believed that kblb would be the only fiber company in the world...pretty sure there will always be others...and thats ok...

so the idea that the AF has interest in other biotech is not particularly meaningful to kblb...it was always a given...it just makes sense for the AF to be interested in everything that has possibilities...

and for the record, the term "synthetic biology" also apllies to what kblb does with genetic engineering...

"What is an example of a synthetic biology?
Synthetic biology can change the genetic material in viruses, bacteria, yeasts, plants, or animals to give them useful new characteristics. For example, integrating spider DNA makes a silkworm produce super strong, ultra-lightweight silk.Apr 17, 2023"
