Nixon not only delivered on the promise to open the 2nd Kalaka Mexican Kitchen mentioned in the article, and appears to be about to open the Takiza Taco & Tequila Bar on Wynkoop St that the article spoke about, but Nixon is also opening a 2nd Takiza place (not mentioned in the article) co-located with the Glendale Illegal Burger.
See: www.takiza.com
for the locations (after you X-out of the "OPENING SOON 2023" banner).
Nixon also didn't tell the Denver Post about the buy-and-refurbish of the El Cazo [Mexican Kitchen] that took place in December/January.
So, the score so far, Nixon is down 2 old restaurants: * Capitol Hill Illegal Burger (Denver) * Illegal Pizza (Lauderhill, FL)
but is up 4 new ones: * 2 Takiza Taco & Tequila Bars (coming soon; see website) * 2nd Kalaka Mexican Kitchen * Purchase and refurbish of El Cazo [Mexican Kitchen]
I can't find any evidence that Illegal Pizza is moving (although the Illegal Pizza website still says 'temporarily closed,' even though they have lost possession of the building), and there is no evidence of any new Illegal Burger places. [So far I haven't spotted any new LLCs for restaurants.]
As we've talked about before, there is no evidence of Nixon's plans to file his Form 10, but on the day WCVC was revoked, Nixon: * Moved WCVC to Florida (on paper), declaring the same 10B A/S as before * Filed to form his LLCs for the Takiza places * Filed to form his LLC for the new Kalaka place.
Although Nixon's preferred shares give him enough perpetual voting rights to outvote all common share shareholders, hopefully he's got a deal going with whomever is holding the majority of the 7B shares in the O/S [i.e., hopefully not just retail penny-stock flippers], or at least make them happy.
To summarize known open legal stuff: * it appears the "contract and indebtedness" case with the Illegal Pizza site's landlord is about over (with an abatement agreement reached, with the filing made 6 days after the agreement was made); * hopefully the Trademark Board case with Ilegal Mezcal -- update due May 15 -- will be closed, as at the last deadline, a settlement just needed Nixon's sign-off.
Settlement of the Trademark case with Ilegal Mezcal leaves us all wondering what made fighting over it for 2 years worthwhile.
Since that case was about the graphic logo on hats and sweatshirts (and other clothing), what is 'under their hats' and 'up their sleeves'? Surely the trademark deal must be broader than that.
