Imo it is really laughable article and study conclusion , imo .
So in 190 patients very sick in ICU with covid , less then 50% of them have secondarily bacterial pneumonia , but no other organs failure ,
So dr Singer concluded these patients didn’t have at any point Cytokine Storm .
He is not showing results of any Cytokine , he just said , no failure of other organs , so no Cytokine Storm .
Conclusion is very wrong , Covid has 2 stages , viral and immune , and immune stage maybe stronger or weaker , but this is a stage where because of severe often immune dysregulation people dying , they dying often with other superimposed problems ,
Some with , and some without secondary pneumonia .
But I believe pneumonia is the most common , as the lungs injury are the most common in patients with Immune stage of Covid ..
Pneumonia happened mostly when immune stage weaken already lungs ., patients admitted with low oxygen , all admitted to the hospital patients have low oxygen , this is usually a reason for admission ,
And some with , and some without superimposed secondary bacterial pneumonia .
In the hospital people are treated very aggressively with antibiotics , and if pneumonia will be the only reason for the addition , I believe over 1 M Americans will not die .
And Dr Sing is not commenting in his paper what was a reason over 50% of this patients died . Only less then 50% had pneumonia , what happened with the over 50% ?????
Only supervised by Dr Fauci study could come with this conclusion as Dr Sing did ..
Almost like remdesivir , it is not helping mortality , but it is “ trending “
