The worlds largest lithium-ion battery manufacturer CATL recently announced a next generation “condensed battery” technology that they claim has an energy density of up to 500 Wh/kg, but what is a condense battery, and is this hype or the real deal? In this video I share my thoughts and observations on this new battery technology and then at the end of the video briefly compare it to Tesla’s 4680 battery technology.

Sure sounds like lithium has quite the growth future still but

Mining heavyweights are chasing takeovers of #lithium companies with early stage or pre-production projects.

While the recent price drop in the #battery material (which in fact, is still three times more expensive than in the middle of 2020) had a negative impact on the share valuations of some smaller players, companies are increasingly prepared to offer chunky premiums to grab a slice of the market for what promises to be one of the world’s hottest commodities.

But one mining giant is warning that could come with risks.

Rio Tinto’s CEO Jakob Stausholm said he’s “cautious” about acquisitions at current valuations, despite the world’s second-biggest miner wanting to grow its nascent lithium business.
