#17612 RE: doingfine #17611

You're welcome, but hopefully this is only the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

On the one hand, it's good (even great) to see that Nixon delivered on his three-fold 'word' to open Takiza Taco & Tequila Bar:

1) he created the LLCs for them on the day WCVC was revoked, which was an implicit declaration that he was still actively moving forward with company expansion plans;
2) he told the Denver Post (Fall of 2022) that he'd be opening 'the' (I say 'the' because if only spoke of one) Takiza place in Wynkoop St,
3) he created the placeholder www.takiza.com page which first 'advertised' the Wynkoop St location, which then changed to the Glendale location (odd that he didn't add the location).

He never explicitly promised 2 locations (as we've discussed before, it looked like the Glendale location was going to replace the Wynkoop St location), so the fact that he's opening TWO AT ONCE isn't exactly disappointing news.

HOWEVER, Nixon is killing us (and himself) with the disjointed way that he's getting the word out about all of his restaurants.

Now, yes, the Illegal Burger website has a pointer to Kalaka Mexican Kitchen, but I can't find any linked references to El Cazo Mexican Kitchen other than the restaurant-owned Facebook page, and the Yelp page that existed before the buyout (and is now updated with the proper restaurant name and webpage link).

There's also NO recent references anywhere that I can find to www.takiza.com OTHER than my own ihub posts, and I happened to find the page on a hunch. I only recently found one or two old links to the former owner's now long-closed place in Texas, but who the heck would be keeping track of the URL based on hope the old business would come back to life?

Other than last year's Denver Post article, how is anyone supposed to know about the Takiza places? And why didn't Nixon even mention his pending buyout and refurbish of El Cazo?

Hey Nixon!!! When are you going to have your marketing department put it all together???

In other non-news, a thing to wonder about is whether Nixon will eventually open a 3rd Takiza place in the Cherry Creek location of the former other Margs' place in Denver:
https://www.opentable.com/margs-taco-bistro-cherry-creek

I haven't found any evidence that any other business is now occupying that space. Here's the last Google-maps street view picture from Oct 2021:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/200+Fillmore+St,+Denver,+CO+80206/@39.7197229,-104.9534255,3a,75y,81.42h,84.2t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sILF7A_05x4PIm7IHCJdpEg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m7!3m6!1s0x876c7e970155546d:0x1ecaf33eff8261d5!8m2!3d39.7196557!4d-104.9531237!10e5!16s%2Fg%2F11f3shfk13?authuser=0

We're also all waiting for details on the Ilegal Mezcal settlement, especially what use Ilegal Mezcal might make of a possible partnership under the "Illegal Brands" name.

Another bit of non-news is in this link (May 3, 2023):
https://robbreport.com/food-drink/spirits/best-mezcal-brands-1234787331/

If you do a direct find-in-page search for "Ilegal Mezca", you not only get a hit on the brand, but the descriptive paragraph begins with this:

"Who wouldn’t want a mezcal marked “Ilegal” on its label?"

This made me think: Who -- meaning English-speakers -- wouldn't misspell the brand as "Illegal Mezcal" while searching for it?

I can see some marketing advantage for Ilegal Mezcal being legally allowed to redirect those searches to its own company-owned pages.

Whether Nixon is going to overtly market Ilegal Mezcal on his own is unknown, but probably wouldn't be a major fail when combined with his Takiza Taco & TEQUILA (!) Bars.

Obviously none of the above proves anything about Nixon putting WCVC back on the stock exchange.

However, if he does have plans to do so, he's got a good (if not great) news story or two to go along with being reinstated, namely, business expansion, new restaurants, and a potential partnership with Ilegal Mezcal.

Maybe that would nudge the stock price up a smidge at opening bell.
