LMFAO! Shorts had nothing to do with BBBY's poor business decisions and the way they gutted the company and ran it into the ground. Companies in trouble attract short sellers, but shorts have nothing to do with the business fundamentals of a company like AMC or BBBY and certainly can't cause a bankruptcy just by selling shares of a troubled company short.
