RUSSELL BREWERIES INC. DOUBLES BREWING CAPACITY

Russell Breweries Inc. has ordered new equipment to effectively double the size of its brewery located in Strawberry Hills, Surrey, B.C. The order includes a bottling line and a canning line to be installed for a summer release of its products in the retail market.

"This is a significant expansion for the company," said Andrew Harris, president and chief operating officer. "In addition to being on tap at their favourite pub or restaurant, consumers will be able to enjoy Russell beer in the comfort of their own homes."

The company was acquired by current management in January, 2004, and, in three years, has grown from a brewing capacity of 2,000 to 8,000 hectolitres per year in draught keg sales exclusively. This next expansion will increase the brewing capacity to 16,000 hectolitres.
