To add to your list...
Dry Eye Disease is a new focus area of the Ophthalmic Medical Sector.
DED has been found to be prevalent in people who use computers, cell phones and tablets regularly as well as women who are pregnant or have ever been pregnant and in people who work under harsh lighting, lack of sleep, stress and a good list of other correlations.
The AXIM DED test seems to be the quickest and has the best business case for doctors to identify patients who would benefit from the available treatments. Until very recently the practice was to put a blotter in a patients eye and the doctor used an optical scope to count the number of drops an eye produced in a fixed time period. That method is very time consuming, uncomfortable for both patient and doctor and did not facilitate screening a large percentage of patients. There are several other tests that are relatively new to the market but based on what I have heard about cost and timing this looks like the test that Doctors would be likely to choose for their practices.
I envision this test becoming the equivalent of the eye pressure test for Glaucoma that is standard issue for every eye exam but time will tell if that happens. I think that many knowledge workers are going to identify with the symptoms after a day at work..
