Y90 isn't Radiogel. Y90 is one of the active components in Radiogel. It's Radiogel that's over two decades old.

As far as verification of Radiogel containment where placed, direct PET imaging of Radiogel (possible because decaying Y90 releases enough positrons to do so) would have been the obvious, most reliable and least costly method. Instead Y90 positron emission denier Dr. Fisher wasted years of RDGL's time and millions of RDGL's $ doing an indirect assay of Y90 containment that didn't sway FDA concerns. As I've previously commented, it would be like a chemist doing an indirect titration assay when a direct spectroscopy assay method was available. Direct imaging/assay methods are always preferred if available.
