It was about DeepPower (CEO Andrew Van Noy who is Chad MacKay's venture capital partner) partnering with the University of Oklahoma to repurpose old spent oil wells for geothermal energy. The project is funded by the US Department of Energy and Baker Hughes. There are around four University of Oklahoma/US Department of Energy repurposed oil wells currently being updated for geothermal energy in Oklahoma, Utah and California. Each geothermal well can generate 2 megawatts of energy or more each with lithium rich brine water being a by-product of these wells (lithium being mentioned in the latest SFLM press release) and there are tens of thousands of similar abandoned oil wells across the US and hundreds of thousands abandoned oil wells around the world.
